How it works
1. Your phone recognizes
Faces are detected, checked for quality, and matched against your own People Library — entirely on the phone. Your photos, people, labels, notes, and face data never leave it.
2. One authorized online lookup
When you allow it, one quality-approved head crop is sent transiently for a public face search. Results show a similarity score and the original pages — evidence, not proof.
3. Sourced public context
A one-line headline such as “Ophthalmic surgeon in the Philippines”, then profiles, professional history, news and public records — every claim linked to where it was found and when.
What we will not do
- We do not turn a resemblance into a verdict. A high score means possibly the same person; it is never an identity, safety, or criminal judgment.
- We do not treat “nothing found” as “safe”.
- We do not keep your camera photos, People Library, or phone-generated face data on our servers. Online lookups send a temporary crop that is deleted after processing.
- We do not cache research about named people. Every lookup re-checks current public sources.
- We do not search a face flagged as a potential minor unless you explicitly confirm responsibility for that search.
- We honour opt-outs. Anyone can ask to be excluded; accepted requests stop future online lookups for that face.
Cameras and sources
Phone camera, still photos, watched albums, and — through reviewed companion plugins — glasses and home or business cameras. Before any source is used you accept the current Terms of Use and the camera authorization notice, and attest that you are authorized to use that camera.
